This policy explains what personal information L2PWatford collects, why we collect it, and your rights. We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and teach you to drive. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
1. Who we are
L2PWatford is the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You can contact us about your information on (+44) 7400362306 or at [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Booking form: your name, phone number, the course you choose and your preferred start date.
- Contact form: your name, phone number and your message.
- When you become a pupil: your driving licence details, lesson history and payments, and any health information you tell us that affects your driving.
- Security check: when you send a form, Cloudflare checks you are not a robot. This uses technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
- Messages: anything you send us by phone, text, WhatsApp or email.
3. How we use it
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and arrange lessons | Steps you ask us to take before a contract |
| Teach lessons, take payments and keep records | Contract, and legal obligation for accounts |
| Keep you safe on lessons, using health information you share | Your explicit consent, which you can withdraw |
| Stop spam and abuse of our website forms | Legitimate interests |
| Measure how people use our website (Google Analytics) | Legitimate interests in improving our website. You can turn it off at any time. |
We will not send you marketing messages.
4. Who we share it with
We only share information with services that help us run the website and reply to you:
- Our email hosting provider receives form submissions as emails sent to us.
- Cloudflare runs the security check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile).
- Google Analytics, unless you turn it off, tells us which pages people visit and how they found us. Google receives your IP address and details about your device and visit. We do not use it for advertising.
- Google Maps reviews are shown on our home page. We copy them from our Google listing from time to time. Reviewers' profile photos load from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on this website. Your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
- YouTube plays the video on our home page. It uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and only loads if you press play.
- WhatsApp (Meta) handles any messages you choose to send us on WhatsApp.
- The DVSA, if we help you book or manage a driving test.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK law. We will also share information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- If you do not book lessons, we delete your enquiry within 12 months.
- If you become a pupil, we keep your records for up to 6 years after your last lesson, because tax law requires us to keep business records.
6. Cookies and storage
We do not use advertising cookies. We only use the following:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) | Count visits and see which pages are useful. You can turn them off below. | Up to 2 years |
| Your analytics choice | Remembers if you closed the cookie notice or turned analytics off. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Special-offer note | Remembers when you closed the special-offer box, so it doesn't pop up again. | Ignored after 7 days |
The last two are small notes saved in your browser and are never sent to us. YouTube may store information in your browser if you choose to play the video.
You can turn Google Analytics off, or back on, at any time here. Turning it off deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
